Frequently Asked Questions

Clear, factual answers regarding our group structure, practice scopes, engagement models, and operational independence.

Group questions

How the group is structured

  • Startup Buddy Services Private Limited is an Indian corporate advisory group operating three specialist practices: CFO Elevate for finance operations and virtual CFO support, Startup Buddy for due diligence and transaction assurance, and WealthVista360 for family-office finance and wealth administration.

  • CFO Elevate manages operational finance, compliance coordination, FP&A and virtual or fractional CFO support. Startup Buddy provides due diligence, transaction advisory and business assurance. WealthVista360 provides family-office finance, wealth administration and consolidated financial intelligence.

  • Each practice has a distinct remit and operates with functional independence. When a requirement spans finance operations, transaction diligence and private balance-sheet administration, the relevant practice leads can share context securely while keeping the engagement clear and confidential.

  • The group supports founders, finance leaders, investors and transaction teams, business families, family offices, senior executives and Indian subsidiaries of global companies. The right practice depends on the decision, operating problem or reporting need you want to address.

  • No. The practices support startups and high-growth companies alongside established SMEs, pharmaceutical firms, logistics operators, manufacturing companies, family offices and multinational corporate subsidiaries. The scope is shaped around the organisation’s records, structure and operating question.

  • Yes. A company may need CFO Elevate for operating finance and Business Advisory coordination, Startup Buddy for an independent transaction review, or WealthVista360 for family and multi-entity reporting. We can identify the right sequence when a conversation touches more than one practice.

CFO Elevate questions

Finance operations and virtual CFO support

  • CFO Elevate combines daily finance operations, compliance tracking and senior finance guidance. Its scope can include transaction administration, invoicing, vendor disbursements, bank reconciliations, payroll coordination, statutory calendars, cash visibility, monthly MIS, budgeting, scenario modelling and executive decision support.

  • Bookkeeping records completed transactions. CFO Elevate adds operating controls and forward-looking finance work, such as budgets, financial models, KPI analysis, cash-runway forecasting, management reporting and preparation for fundraising or diligence.

  • It can operate as an outsourced finance department or support an existing internal team. The working model is defined around the organisation’s transaction volume, internal responsibilities, reporting needs and required level of fractional CFO direction.

  • The person who prepares a transaction, invoice or reconciliation does not provide final authorisation. A second finance professional reviews entries and payment approvals before completion, creating a clear review step that helps reduce administrative errors and improve accountability.

  • CFO Elevate can prepare monthly financial statements, budget-variance analysis, cash-flow summaries and KPI dashboards. Depending on the scope, reporting can cover margins, acquisition costs, operating burn, collection cycles, liquidity commitments and other measures needed for management decisions.

  • Fractional CFO support becomes useful when transaction volume expands, headcount increases, operations span multiple entities or the company begins preparing for outside investment. Leadership then needs reliable forecasts, governance and decision support alongside accurate day-to-day records.

Business Advisory questions

Setting up and coordinating finance for India operations

  • Business Advisory is CFO Elevate’s capability for finance operating readiness and compliance coordination when an international company is establishing operations in India. It focuses on the finance architecture, workflows, reporting cadence and local coordination required to run the Indian operation.

  • The work can cover chart-of-accounts mapping, domestic accounting workflows, banking and payment authorisations, invoicing, payroll runs, GST and TDS tracking, PF and ESI coordination, corporate filing calendars and reporting packages formatted for an overseas parent or group finance team.

  • Finance architecture can include a chart of accounts, bank-routing logic, approval matrices, responsibilities, accounting-system alignment and a reporting format that supports consolidation. The exact setup depends on the parent company’s existing systems and the Indian entity’s operating requirements.

  • Yes. CFO Elevate can maintain calendars and coordinate information for GST, TDS, corporate income tax, advance tax, PF, ESI and ROC or MCA requirements. The engagement distinguishes finance coordination from formal legal opinions or specialist filings that require qualified counsel.

  • No. CFO Elevate focuses on finance operations, accounting setup, compliance coordination and operating readiness. Where incorporation filings, legal advice or formal tax opinions are required, the work is coordinated with qualified legal, tax or secretarial specialists under a separate scope.

  • It can produce periodic MIS and finance reporting packages using formats that overseas finance directors, group controllers or auditors can work with. This can include consolidated reporting alignment, cash-flow visibility, entity governance information and a regular operating cadence.

Startup Buddy questions

Due diligence and business assurance

  • Startup Buddy is an independent transaction advisory and business assurance practice. It reviews financial, tax, operational, governance and selected legal or secretarial records to help a transaction stakeholder understand the business condition, material risks and information gaps before a capital transaction proceeds.

  • Investor Shield is the pre-investment diligence pathway for investors, funds and family offices. It independently tests the records and operating claims presented by a target business, then organises material findings, risk priorities and deal-structuring inputs for the investor’s review.

  • Founder Ready is an internal business-health review for founders and boards preparing for fundraising, an audit or institutional scrutiny. It examines finance, compliance, governance, controls and documentation, then provides a prioritised action plan to address weaknesses before an external diligence process.

  • Depending on scope, a review can cover revenue quality, EBITDA normalisation, working capital, financial-statement integrity, tax and GST exposures, labour-law contributions, internal controls, procurement, inventory, corporate records, material contracts, IP, employment terms and governance dependencies.

  • A statutory audit tests historical financial statements against applicable accounting requirements. Due diligence asks wider commercial questions, including whether revenue is sustainable, cash flows are normalised, tax contingencies are visible, controls work in practice and the business depends too heavily on a single founder or process.

  • No. Startup Buddy reports factual findings, risks and areas requiring attention. It does not recommend whether to buy or sell securities, broker investments, take transaction success fees, guarantee returns, guarantee capital allocation or guarantee regulatory approvals.

  • The duration depends on transaction complexity, operational volume, the number of entities involved and the availability and quality of documentation. A practical scope and document request are agreed before work begins so the review can be sequenced around the transaction timetable.

WealthVista360 questions

Family-office finance and consolidated reporting

  • WealthVista360 is an independent family-office administration practice. It organises financial records, tracks capital movements, reconciles holdings and prepares consolidated net-worth and family-balance-sheet reporting for entrepreneurs, business families, family offices and people managing complex personal and corporate structures.

  • A wealth manager advises on or manages investments and may earn product or distribution fees. WealthVista360 acts as an administrative partner: it consolidates, verifies and reports financial holdings objectively without recommending assets, managing market portfolios or distributing financial instruments.

  • The reporting framework can bring together bank statements, custodian and depository records, listed and unlisted holdings, private-equity commitments, ESOP records, real assets, trusts, HUFs, LLPs, holding companies, liabilities and other entity-level financial documentation.

  • An investment register is a structured record of holdings and related movements. It can track ownership, acquisition details, capital-account movements, dividends, interest, lease receipts, vesting information, private share records and supporting documents across accounts and entities.

  • No. WealthVista360 does not hold client funds, execute bank transfers or trade securities. It works through statement reporting, document consolidation, reconciliation, capital tracking and administrative monitoring so the family and its appointed institutions retain control of transactions.

  • No. It does not distribute mutual funds, sell insurance, broker PMS or AIF products, or earn transaction commissions. Its role is fee-based administration, portfolio and record consolidation, reconciliations and net-worth reporting.

  • Access to family balance sheets, banking statements and unlisted-equity records is restricted to assigned finance professionals. The operating model uses structured record-keeping and confidentiality commitments so sensitive documentation is handled on a need-to-know basis.

  • Yes. The reporting framework is designed for distinct entities, including family trusts, private holding companies, LLPs and HUFs. It can consolidate the relevant records into a coherent family balance sheet while keeping ownership, liabilities and supporting documents attributable to the correct entity.

Engagement questions

Choosing a practice and starting the conversation

  • Choose CFO Elevate for finance operations, compliance coordination or virtual CFO support; Startup Buddy for investor-side diligence or founder-side business assurance; and WealthVista360 for family-office administration and consolidated wealth reporting. If the fit is unclear, share the decision you are facing and the team can route it.

  • A short outline of your organisation or family structure, the decision or operating issue, the relevant entities, timing and the type of records available is useful. Do not send sensitive documents before the appropriate scope, access and confidentiality arrangements are agreed.

  • No. An initial conversation is used to understand the requirement, identify the relevant practice and determine whether the scope is a fit. Any formal review, finance operation or administration work begins only after the parties agree the scope, responsibilities and commercial terms.

  • Use the Contact page to send a focused enquiry by email or open WhatsApp. You can describe whether the question relates to finance operations, India operating readiness, due diligence, business assurance or family-office reporting so the enquiry reaches the right practice.

  • The group can coordinate finance information, compliance calendars and operating workflows within the agreed scope. Formal legal advice, incorporation filings, tax opinions and specialist statutory work remain with appropriately qualified advisers or a separately defined engagement.

  • It means each practice has a clear remit and can give an objective view within that remit. For example, a due diligence engagement remains independent of an ongoing accounting relationship, while a family-office administration engagement does not become a product-distribution relationship.
